As a sole-preneur with a great team of resources and vendors, my mission is to enhance vacation rental properties, while helping the planet and the island of Maui by promoting the recycling of furnishing and home goods.
 

I proudly earned the title 'The Bargain Queen' because of my frugal shopping skills and because blessed with a great eye for design and decorating. A dedicated thrifter my entire adult life, my passion and hobby is treasure hunting and sourcing. What started as an affordable way to raise my family and provide them with life's comforts, turned into the joy of seeing the reactions from redesigning the homes of my friends and family. In the late 90's an obsession with HGTV and TLC further fueled my interest in transforming living spaces. For over four decades, I've traveled the world as a professional entertainer and producer, which exposed me to stunning decor, venues, homes and designers. I've been in over 40 theatrical productions (onstage and behind the scenes) and never tire of the thrill of transforming an empty stage into a magical setting. This led to my interest in event design and I eventually opened my own event space The Black Swan. I later managed The Field House Event Venue, which I had the pleasure of supervising the interior and exterior transformation.

In 2016, I joined KUHS Denver Radio with my weekly talk radio show "Making a Way with Bargain Queen Sheryl Renee" which streamed internationally every Wednesday for a year.
We featured bloggers, business professionals and grass roots experts who shared their knowledge and insight. This led to opportunities to share my skills with organizations like Arc Thrift Stores, Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity. In late 2019, I launched Affordable Room Makeovers, LLC in Colorado and then COVID shut the world down. I utilized that time and got my certification as a professional organizer. I joined my partner, a home improvement tradesman, and got hands on experience with all aspects of renovating and remodeling homes. Post pandemic, my mind is blown daily by all of the amazing and innovative hacks, on sites like Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.  
 

After 24 years of visiting and performing on Maui, I am delighted to now be a full-time resident. I gained invaluable knowledge working at Maui based property management companies Hawaiiana Management Company and My Perfect Stays, and am now stepping out on faith to make a positive impact on this amazing island with Vacation Rental Tuneup!
